The 130th running of the Boston Marathon — the world's oldest annual marathon (founded 1897) — held on Patriots' Day, Monday April 20, 2026. The 26.2-mile course runs from Hopkinton MA to Boston's Copley Square finish line on Boylston Street. Approximately 30,000 registered runners; 500,000 to 1 million spectators along the route depending on weather. Among the most-watched single-day sporting events in New England. Operated by the Boston Athletic Association (BAA). Food trucks and street vendors set up along the route, especially in the final miles through Brookline and Boston.
