Bright Nights at Forest Park is a three-mile drive-through holiday light show with more than 750,000 lights in Springfield's Forest Park, run since 1995 by the City of Springfield's Parks department and the Spirit of Springfield, a private non-profit. Displays along the route include Seuss Land, Toy Land, Jurassic World, the Garden of Peace and the Blizzard Tunnel, and you can tune your car radio to WELF 100.7 FM for music as you drive. The 2026 season runs Wednesday, November 25, 2026 through Sunday, January 3, 2027, closed Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Saturday and holidays. Admission is by the car: $30 per car plus a $2 ticket fee through December 27, and $20 per car plus the fee from December 28 to January 3. Oversized vehicles seating 9 to 16 are $50, and buses need reservations. Tickets must be bought in advance online. A $70 season pass is sold until November 1 to the first 400 buyers. Santa visits in Santa's Magical Forest, just past Seuss Land, from November 25 through Christmas Eve, and private horse-drawn wagon and carriage rides run on select December nights by reservation.
