The Gilfeather Turnip Festival celebrates the famous Gilfeather turnip, first cultivated in Wardsboro and named the Vermont State Vegetable in 2016. Organized by the Friends of the Wardsboro Library, this volunteer-run festival features Gilfeather soup, Gilfeather turnips by the pound, turnip seeds, turnip souvenirs, food and craft vendors, and live music. A quintessential rural Vermont celebration.
