The 41st annual Hometown Holiday Festival fills Historic Main Street in Newtown, CT on Sunday, December 6, 2026, from 11 am to 4 pm. The Holiday Market runs along Main Street and indoors in the Edmond Town Hall gymnasium, with local artisans, small businesses, food vendors and makers, and there is no charge to shop the indoor market. Around the market the day includes The Nutcracker Suite at Edmond Town Hall, the Festival of Trees at Trinity Episcopal Church, Holiday House Tours, historic trolley tours, a gingerbread house competition, Letters to Santa, a Santa's vintage firetruck visit and a sweet treats and crafts corner; many of these activities are covered by a Holiday Festival Pass sold through the organizer. All proceeds benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services, which has run the festival since 1985. Vendors: in late September 2026 the indoor market was sold out and outdoor vendor spaces were still open. The organizer gives preference to locally made, handmade artisan work; outdoor vendors take 10x10 spaces on the grass along Main Street and supply their own tent, tables and chairs. Food vendors also need a temporary permit from the Newtown Health Department.
