Newtown Holiday Festival 2026

The 41st annual Newtown Holiday Festival transforms Historic Main Street in Newtown, CT into a holiday market on Sunday, December 6, 2026, 11 am to 4 pm, rain or shine. Outdoor artisan and food booths line Main Street while indoor vendors fill the Edmond Town Hall gymnasium. Alongside the market the day includes performances of The Nutcracker at Edmond Town Hall, the Festival of Trees at Trinity Episcopal Church, Holiday House Tours, historic trolley tours, a gingerbread house competition, Letters to Santa, Frosty's Cookie Workshop, and Holiday Stories with Mrs. Claus. All proceeds benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services, which has run the festival since 1985. Vendors: applications are due October 1 or when spaces fill, whichever comes first. The organizer gives preference to locally made, handmade artisan work; only original work may be shown and exhibitors must attend in person. Roughly 70 outdoor 10x10 spaces are available on the grass between sidewalk and street (vendors supply their own tent, tables and chairs) plus about 30 indoor 8x8 spaces in the Edmond Town Hall gym, each including one 8-foot table and a chair. Outdoor booths cannot move indoors on festival day. Food vendors additionally need a temporary permit from the Newtown Health Department. Setup runs 8:00 to 10:30 am. Admission is ticketed rather than free — in 2025 general admission ran $25 for children up to $40 for adults, with 2026 pricing not yet posted.
