The North Country Moose Festival is a two-day, two-state celebration held annually the weekend before Labor Day along the New Hampshire–Vermont border. Friday's events run on Main Street in Colebrook, NH (cruise night, parade, quilt show, face painting, and displays from NH Fish & Game and State Police); Saturday moves to Canaan Recreation Park in Canaan, VT, with artisan and craft vendors, food vendors, live music, a moose calling contest, classic car show, dog show, train rides, cow plop bingo, and a maple syrup tasting contest. Helicopter rides are offered at both locations for a separate fee. Friday admission is free; Saturday is $5 (children under 12 free). Organized by the North Country Chamber of Commerce and voted #1 Festival in NH in 2015; the 2025 edition was the 35th annual.
