The Spencer Fair is held every Labor Day weekend at the fairgrounds on Smithville Road, and the organizers describe it as an old-time, traditional country fair: ox and horse pulls, cattle, rabbit and poultry shows, hall exhibits, midway and outdoor entertainment. The competition schedule also takes in concrete, garden and mini tractor pulls, truck pulls and a demolition derby. On the exhibit side there is an agricultural center with a hatchery, poultry and farm yard, plus antique tractors, beef and dairy, field crops, giant pumpkins, honey, and adult, youth and pre-junior halls. The midway is operated by Gillette Shows.
