Brickyard Hollow, a natural undeveloped valley located in the center of the Town of Yarmouth, was once the geographical feature that divided the coastal shipbuilding community from the inland farming and paper-making community. At the turn of the twentieth century the Hollow was filled in with ash from the nearby Forest Paper Company in an effort to unite the two villages and bring people together for community events.
