Quilled by Cynthia

Ten years ago, one of the expectant mothers I worked with as a childbirth educator gave me a piece of framed quilled artwork as a thank-you. I was captivated by the way paper could be shaped into something so intricate and dimensional. That piece still hangs on my wall today. For years, I imagined learning the technique myself. When I finally began, I knew almost immediately that I had found an art form I would love. Incredibly, shortly after I started quilling my own designs, I ran into that very client at a local bookstore for the first time in years and had the opportunity to show her what her thoughtful gift had inspired me to pursue. I created Quilled by Cynthia both to share my love of paper quilling and to continue creating new pieces with purpose. I design and make original quilled ornaments, cards and artwork, taking great care considering the color, balance, and fine details of every piece. Every ornament, card, and piece of artwork is individually made by me, entirely by hand, in Connecticut. Each snowflake and art form is an individually numbered original, and the exact piece photographed is the very one you will own. I provide many photos and a video of every item so you can know exactly what you are buying, and to demonstrate the magnificence of quilling as light hits it from all angles and plays with the shadows and open spaces. I want you to feel that receiving one of my pieces is special from the moment the package is opened. Every order is packaged with the same care and attention as the artwork itself, so the process of opening and unwrapping your quilling it is as lovely and special as the piece inside. Cynthia
